When will be a good time to buy a house in Colorado?
I was just talking to a colleague about when we bought our house way back in 2010, it felt so scary after the housing crash in 2008. We were worried about everything, especially about buying too high. Luckily we had a Realtor working with us who we trusted, and we had a clear vision of the neighborhood we wanted to be in, monthly payment we wanted to stick to, and type of house we were looking for. Even with this clarity it still took us several months to find the right home. Our price point creeped up slowly during our search and after a few months of searching, we finally found the home we loved. It was more than we wanted to spend, but we have never regretted paying $50/month more to be in the house we still love. It was helpful to have a great loan officer who helped us look at the different options we had and get us to a monthly payment we were comfortable with.
So when will be a good time to buy a house in Colorado? The real answer is that there is never a perfect or even a “good” time to buy a house. There will always be worries about what the market will do in the future, where interest rates will be, will the house appreciate, is the home a good value.
